KUCHING (Sept 5): The Sarawak Pavilion has been named the Best State Pavilion and crowned champion of MAHA 2026 at the Malaysia Agriculture, Horticulture and Agrotourism Exhibition (MAHA) 2026, held from Aug 28 to Sept 6 at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS) in Serdang, Selangor.
The State Ministry of Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development (M-FICORD) said the achievement earned the pavilion RM15,000 in cash and a certificate of appreciation.
“The achievement reflects the close cooperation, commitment and dedication of various ministries, departments, agencies, entrepreneurs and industry players in promoting the strengths and uniqueness of Sarawak’s agro-food, agriculture and commodity sectors,” the ministry said in a statement.
M-FICORD Permanent Secretary Datu Sirai Daha, together with officers and personnel involved in the Sarawak Pavilion, received the prizes during the event.
The awards were presented by Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu.
M-FICORD said the recognition underscored Sarawak’s ability to showcase the diversity and potential of its agro-food and commodity sectors at the national level.
It added that Sarawak’s participation in MAHA served not only as an exhibition platform, but also as an avenue to promote the state’s products, innovations, culture, entrepreneurship and agro-food potential to a wider audience.
