BINTULU, July 18: The Sarawak Land Development Board (SLDB) provides grants and financial financing under the Sarawak Agro Fund (SAF).
Sarawak Agro Executive Brain Hubert said the facility is available to agro-entrepreneurs who are ready to transition from micro to small and medium enterprises.
“The maximum grant is RM500,000, but it depends on the project or basic criteria, meaning the business must have been operating for at least a year and generating sales of less than RM300,000,” he said when interviewed by TVS at Sarawak Agrofest 2024 here today.
He added that anyone involved in agriculture and livestock can apply for this financing.
In addition to granting grants, SLDB also provides easy financing such as SAF1, SAF2, SAF Corporate Fund (SCF), and SAF Equity Fund (SEF) with interest rates ranging from 2.5 percent to 5.0 percent.
Previously, SAF introduced in 2019 was known as Sarawak Venture Capital.
So far, SAF under SLDB has approved financing applications for 58 agro-entrepreneurs in the form of grants and financial financing. – TVS
