Limbang Agrofest 2024 Contributes to the State Government's Target of Attracting Tourists to Sarawak

Limbang Agrofest 2024 is able to contribute to the state government's aspiration or target to attract tourists to Sarawak in 2024 with a total of 4 million visitors.

Deputy Minister for Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development of Sarawak, Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail said in 2024 there will be four Agfrofests, namely three divisional levels and one large state level in Bintulu.

"After Limbang we will hold it in Gedong in Samarahan Division, Spaoh in Betong Division and finally in Bintulu.

"A festival like this is a day to meet customers, the Department of Agriculture meets their customers who are farmers, breeders and even fishermen.

"This group is very important for us to provide food on the table. Without this group we will starve to death," he said.

He said this at the Opening Ceremony of Limbang Agrofest 2024, in Bandar Limbang on Saturday.

A total of 5401 visitors have visited the festival since the first day of its opening on Friday (1 March 2024) and it is understood that the department's target of 4000 visitors has been exceeded.

The main objective of this program is to explain the direction to the community and bring the Department of Agriculture and government agencies closer so that it is close to the hearts of the people.

In addition, this program can also highlight products produced by agricultural entrepreneurs under the guidance of the Sarawak Department of Agriculture as well as provide opportunities for agencies to introduce technology and approaches to agriculture based on digital technology.

For information, Limbang Agrofest 2024 has been participated by 73 exhibitors registered under the program.

Also present were Deputy Minister of Transport Malaysia and Member of Parliament for Limbang Datuk Hasbi Habibollah, Danau assemblyman Dato Paulus Palu Gumbang, Deputy Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development Sarawak Sayed Ismail Nasiruddin, Deputy Director of Agriculture Sarawak (Operations Sector) Radziah Jack and other guests.
