BEKENU: Modern agriculture in Sarawak requires more youth involvement in order to transform the agriculture sector in Sarawak.
Subis District Officer, Norlila Ulis said, currently the involvement of youth in modern agriculture are relatively low.
In the meantime, he said, the fertigation course initiative organized by the Sarawak United National Youth Organization (SABERKAS) is strongly supported as it encourages youth involvement in the sector.
He said this while representing Sarawak Deputy Minister of Women, Children and Community Welfare Datuk Rosey Yunus in the Northern Zone Agriculture Fertigation Course adjournment ceremony here on Saturday.
Norlila further commented, this course introduces the basics of fertigation thus helping the young participants to become young entrepreneurs through modern farming methods.
A total of 63 SABERKAS youth in the northern zone participated in the course which started on Saturday morning and ended with a practical session.
